OT Security Engineer

About the RoleYou will become part of a cybersecurity team focused on protecting complex on premise and OT related environments across several regions. In this position, you will help maintain and improve the core SOC tooling landscape, strengthen detection capabilities, and resolve operational issues to keep monitoring stable and effective.This opportunity combines SOC tooling, DevOps driven automation, on premise security, and practical troubleshooting. It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys solving technical challenges and keeping critical security environments running smoothly.Key Responsibilities

• Manage, improve, and support SOC infrastructure, systems, and tooling.
• Implement and operate SIEM, logging, and OT security platforms, such as Elasticsearch, Graylog, industrial detection solutions, and vulnerability scanning tools.
• Configure, maintain, and support IDS, IPS, and virtualised or container based sensors.
• Develop and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines to roll out security capabilities efficiently.
• Use Ansible to create reliable and repeatable deployment processes.
• Automate day to day operational tasks through Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Deploy and secure container based applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Investigate and resolve issues across sensors, logs, pipelines, and network components, while restoring service quickly when systems are impacted.
• Support incident response activities and help stabilise operations during and after incidents.
• Create and maintain clear documentation for configurations, procedures, and architecture.Required Skills
• Fluent Dutch, both spoken and written.
• Hands on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD, ideally within GitLab.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
• Good working knowledge of both Windows and Linux environments.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP and experience with PCAP analysis.
• Experience with SIEM and log management platforms such as Elasticsearch and Graylog.
• Comfortable working in on premise or OT related environments, rather than cloud only landscapes.
• A strong troubleshooting mindset with the ability to stay effective under pressure.
• Solid cybersecurity fundamentals and a strong sense of ownership.Nice to Have
• Experience within industrial, OT, manufacturing, utilities, or other critical environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 or similar security frameworks.
• Experience with OT specific detection technologies or vulnerability management tools.
• German language skills are a plus.
