What happens when systems behave exactly as designed but not as expected? Cloud and DevOps engineers, join us as we explore the challenges of moving from infrastructure as code to infrastructure that decides for itself. Dive into control, trust and autonomy in modern cloud platforms.
We’ve spent the last decade turning infrastructure into code. Predictable. Observable. Repeatable. Now we’re doing something far more dangerous. We’re teaching infrastructure to decide. This meetup isn’t about prompt engineering or copilots, but about what happens when engineers are no longer the most brilliant actors in their own systems. Expect no checklist but only sharper questions about control, trust and responsibility in autonomous cloud environments.

In this meetup
Dennis Vroegop – Senior tech lead– Interim CTO
Dennis Vroegop is a senior tech lead / interim CTO. He has been programming computers for over 4 decades and does not intend to stop any time soon. He has been working on AI systems since his studies in the late 80’s, but decided to ramp up on that in 2016. These days, he is a sought-after speaker and trainer on anything AI, both the GenAI kind and the other, more ‘old-fashioned’ kinds.
Dennis has been a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional for the last 20 years, the last 3 of them as an AI MVP. Dennis has been part of most major tech conferences in the area, including dotNed Saturday, Future Tech, and Techorama.
This might be the last chance to see him speak in the Netherlands, as he and his family move to Australia in April 2026. So don’t miss this!
Public transport or car?
The ITO Tower is just a 2-minute walk from Amsterdam Zuid station, making it easily accessible by public transport. Prefer to come by car? To avoid high parking fees in the nearest car parks, consider options like De Boelelaan or services such as Parkbee or Mobian (park & bike) – instead of navigating to the nearest commercial car parks. The ITO Tower does not offer its own parking.
How to get to the venue?
