Interim Ansible EngineerHelp automate and modernize mission-critical infrastructureFor one of our clients, we are looking for an experienced Ansible Engineer to help automate, maintain and modernize business-critical infrastructure supporting real-time operational services.In this role, you'll work in a highly secure environment where reliability, availability and automation are essential. You'll play a key role in improving platform stability, reducing technical debt and driving automation across a complex private cloud and on-premises infrastructure.What you'll be doingAs an Ansible Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining automation across the infrastructure while supporting the modernization of mission-critical platforms.Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing, developing and maintaining infrastructure automation using Ansible.
  • Managing configuration and standardizing infrastructure across complex environments.
  • Maintaining and improving business-critical real-time systems with a strong focus on stability and availability.
  • Reducing technical debt and continuously improving operational processes.
  • Supporting modernization initiatives, including Infrastructure as Code, GitLab adoption, containerization and Kubernetes.
  • Managing Windows-based environments with supporting Linux systems.
  • Working within a secure private cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and performing root cause analysis.
  • Collaborating with engineers to continuously improve platform reliability and operational excellence.
  • Participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation.What we're looking forWe're looking for an engineer with a strong automation mindset who enjoys bringing structure to complex technical environments.You have experience with:
  • Ansible (essential)
  • Python
  • Oracle and/or SQL databases
  • VMware
  • Windows Server
  • Linux administration
  • Git / GitLab
  • Infrastructure as Code
  • Networking
  • Private cloud or on-premises infrastructureNice to have:
  • Kubernetes
  • Containerization technologies
  • Security automation, including certificate management and password vault solutionsYour profileYou are an experienced infrastructure engineer who enjoys automation, takes ownership and thrives in environments where reliability is critical.You:
  • Have experience working in mission-critical or high-availability environments.
  • Are strong in automation and configuration management.
  • Work in a structured and organized manner and actively contribute to improving processes.
  • Enjoy solving complex technical challenges.
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate well with both engineers and stakeholders.Practical information
  • Start: As soon as possible
  • Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension
  • Hours: 36-40 hours per week
  • Location: Gelderland, the Netherlands
  • Hybrid: Approximately one day per week on-site
  • On-call: Participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation is required
