Vacancy: Freelance Azure Solution Architect

For one of our leading clients in North Holland, we are looking for an experienced Azure Solution Architect to help design and guide complex cloud solutions across the organization. Location: North Holland (Hybrid - Minimum 2 days on-site)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 12 months, with extension possible
Hours per week: 32 to 40

Your Role as Azure Solution Architect

As an Azure Solution Architect, you will lead the design and implementation of cloud-native solutions, working closely with both technical and business stakeholders. You'll ensure that architectural standards are met while enabling agile development teams to deliver value quickly and securely.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design end-to-end Azure cloud architectures that meet business, security, and technical requirements
* Advise development and infrastructure teams on best practices and reference architectures
* Collaborate with security, compliance, and data teams to ensure governance standards are integrated
* Define and guide the adoption of cloud-native patterns (e.g. microservices, event-driven, serverless)
* Oversee architecture documentation, solution blueprints, and review implementation plans
* Act as a trusted advisor to leadership and project managers during strategic cloud initiatives
* Promote Infrastructure-as-Code and DevOps principles throughout the project lifecycle

What You Bring:

* Proven experience as a Solution Architect in Azure enterprise environments
* Strong knowledge of Azure services (App Services, Key Vault, Service Bus, Cosmos DB, API Management, etc.)
* Familiarity with ARM, Bicep, or Terraform for infrastructure automation
* Experience with cloud security, governance, and compliance standards
* Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
* Ability to bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Azure certifications (e.g. AZ-305) are a strong plus
